Littering is horrible for many many reasons; one reason is that a stray cat or any animal can eat it and get very sick, especially if it’s plastic. If it’s plastic the animal can die!!
Reason two is some things like jars, cups, or even plastic can get stuck on an animal’s paw or head if it’s big or small enough.
Reason three is that it’s horrible for the environment, because it can cause air pollution, land pollution and ocean pollution. It can cause ocean pollution because if it gets into the water a sea turtle, shark, or fish could eat it and, like I said, if it eats plastic, it can either die on the spot, or get sick and then eventually die. An estimated 60% of ocean pollution is caused by littering.
Reason four is that it’s bad for the economy. It’s bad for the economy because it can affect the health of our communities, living creatures and ecosystems.
It also has a real and very significant economic impact, this includes lower land values, reduced tourism, wasted resources and clean-up costs!
Reason five is that pollution can affect our economy too! Because…Pollutants can harm agricultural productivity, leading to decreased crop yields and quality. It can also reduce the food supply.
Reason five, littering can spread germs and bacteria into the community. `
Last reason, Reason six How it affects us, Humans:
● Litter is costly
● Can cause diseases
● Spread of disease and infection
● HIGH cleanup costs
● Compounded littering
● Land pollution
● Littering could cause car accidents
● Could cause fires
● Pollute the environment
● Ocean pollution
● Air pollution
